Welcome back, Manny Ramirez

By Dan | @DGood73

Manny Ramirez, the homer-bashing, baggy-uniformed, attendant-pushing, awe-inspiring, steroid-tainted, once-in-a-generation slugger, is back in the Major League pipeline, signing with the Texas Rangers and assigned to AAA Round Rock.

The assignment follows his stint with the EDA Rhinos of the Chinese Professional Baseball League. Manny plans to trim his dreadlocks to comply with the Rangers' team rules.

Sure, Ramirez brings baggage. He's the guy accused of using fertility drugs to mask his testosterone use. But the signing is a smart one because of the low-risk, high-reward involved.

Manny is lots of things - unique and brilliant, original and befuddling. And 555 career home runs later, he remains a power threat, the type of player who could energize a lineup on his hitting reputation alone.

He's played in Cleveland and Boston, Los Angeles and Chicago, Tampa Bay ... Sacramento ... Taiwan ...

Texas?

Round Rock comes first, with "Manny Being Manny" once step away from the majors, once again.
